After the bustle of the Medina, Casa Gyla is where you want to come and unwind. I’ve never felt so relaxed, sitting by the pool in a calm oasis surrounded by roses, Jasmine karma palm trees, and fruit trees. The villa is traditional throughout, with lovely furnishings and mosaics, and the rooms are comfortable. The staff are amazing and the hosts are wonderful. Nothing is too much trouble, and you won’t get a warmer welcome anywhere else. Casa Gyla is absolutely stunning and gives you a real Moroccan experience.

This unique white house makes you fall in love with Marrakech. Its superb gardens are beautiful, and being there feels like going back to a quieter time. It’s a little-known piece of the city’s history, the only surviving house entirely decorated by Jacqueline Foissac and Bill Willis, two iconic decorators. The host is incredibly attentive.

The guide insisted they were dromedaries, apparently not just camels! The ride was over a bit of rough ground, but it was fun all the same, and now I’ve ticked another box 🙂
