This was the worst of the three riads we stayed at on our trip. The riad itself was okay and well located, and the staff were attentive, but our tiny box of a room was very humid and smelled strongly of sewage. The staff sent me to the owner, whose French number was on WhatsApp. He assured me this happens often and said they’d get a plumber in after we left, then stopped replying. It was a bad experience being in a room that smelled like sewage, with an owner who seemed uninterested.

Brahim welcomed us to Dal Balthazar and explained what we needed to know about the area, including local activities that became some of the highlights of our stay. Yussuf made us a welcome dinner and greeted us each morning at breakfast. You helped make our first visit to Marrakech feel special. Thank you!

Friendly staff, a warm and comfortable riad, and a safe place that felt like home. We really liked its homely feel and would recommend it to travelers looking for a cost-conscious stay with central access to the Medina. I have some constructive feedback below.

The shared areas and rooftop were great, and the hotel smelled nice, felt friendly, and was well maintained. Staff drew us a map before the transfer, and the location is close to everything. There was no “Do Not Disturb” sign, and the room wasn’t cleaned unless we asked. The bed was very hard, and payment at the hotel was cash only.
