Kamal, who coordinates the Apartments, was available around the clock and did a lot to make my stay memorable. Having 24/7 security at the entrance was reassuring, and the apartment amenities were all up to standard. My neighbors were friendly and quiet. A lot of people from other parts of Morocco stay here when visiting Marrakech, so I'm guessing it's a gem. My one-bedroom apartment had enough room for four people, though I'd recommend it for a couple. It's a good base for exploring the city, Jemna El Fnaa (Medina Market), and the sights. I'll definitely stay here again on a future visit to Marrakech and recommend it to others. On Booking.com, it's listed as Nour Apartments.
Jad made check-in and check-out smooth from beginning to end, and his support made a real difference. When the bathroom lock broke, he was in town and came over promptly late in the evening, then called a locksmith to fix it. We rented one of his two apartments in the same complex through Airbnb, and the place was spacious, clean, and in a convenient area. It's near the city center, with restaurants and cafes within 3 kilometers. If you like walking, most attractions are 20-30 minutes away, or app-based taxis cost about 20-40 MAD to reach major tourist spots. The apartment is on the same level as the swimming pool, and all its windows and balcony face that way, so you'll probably want to keep most of the blinds closed for privacy. That didn't detract much from our stay. We visited in winter, and the stone floors made the room a bit cold, so be prepared in cooler months. There was occasional neighbor noise, but never at odd hours, and it wasn't a major issue. We thoroughly enjoyed the stay and would recommend the apartment for its location, space, and Jad's support as a host. We'd happily stay again or try his other apartment.
I booked an apartment on Booking, but when I called, they said there was a problem because it was already booked on Airbnb. They suggested another place in Residence Nour 5, but on arrival I was given a completely different apartment from the one I paid for. It was dirty and disgusting. This happened to me twice in one day. The first time, I canceled through Booking, and by then it was already evening. While I was out, someone entered the apartment. I have evidence on my phone that the door had been moved. Luckily, I hadn't left any money or valuables inside. I don't know who went in and checked my things, and as a girl, it was scary to sleep there. Anouar was nice, but that didn't make me feel safe. The route to the residence was bad and scary, and I couldn't breathe on the way. You have to walk to find this pool inside. I don't recommend it at all. Don't trust them if they say there's a problem and offer you somewhere else.
I booked an apartment through Airbnb for a foreign guest, but building security stopped me at the entrance. Their internal rules said a man and woman couldn't enter an apartment together unless they were married. I accepted that, but when I asked the guard to help with her luggage, he said it wasn't his job. I couldn't go upstairs even though I had booked the apartment. He only helped after calling his supervisor, who told him to when I explained I wouldn't let her carry the bags alone. It put my guest in an uncomfortable spot. She was confused about why we'd been stopped and why I couldn't go up with her, and I was left in an awkward position with someone I only know professionally. The guards acted as if we were committing a crime and they were the police stopping us. The “crime” was simply that I was going to help my guest with her luggage 😂
This was the worst experience we've had in Morocco. We called and emailed dozens of times when we arrived, but the host didn't answer. He ignored us until we had to cancel the booking ourselves. The moment we asked for a refund, he approved it within a minute, which makes it seem like he was online and deliberately avoiding us, perhaps because he'd double-booked the room at a higher price. He dodged his responsibility as a host and wasted our valuable time. Don't trust this place if you don't want to be stranded in Marrakech. The refund felt like a trap, and the one-star reviews make it seem like this keeps happening.
