Hacienda Marrakech

Habiba residence is far from everything, in the middle of nowhere, and I couldn't find a taxi nearby. I booked one of the cheapest, smallest rooms, 20 square meters for 65 euros on the website. It was near the busiest, noisiest part of the hotel, by the bar and restaurant. Music carried on nonstop until all the customers had left, so it felt more like a short-stay room. There were only towels and bed sheets. No soap, minibar, or even a bottle of water. The furniture was dated, the TV was small and old, and the floor was dirty. Laundry costs extra. I handed in some clothes to be washed and got them back that evening still wet and unironed. The business felt amateurish, and I could do a much better job myself at home. The guest rules say, “hotel staff is not involved in your apartment during your stay...”, so you have to ask for anything you need, and everything is charged extra. On my second day, I found mouse droppings on my pillow and table. To use the spa, you have to ask in the kitchen, since the woman cooking also works in the spa. The internet was slow and cut out every five minutes on my computer. Most of the time, I couldn't see any network at all, so I had to use my phone outside my room to find one. I had no complaints about the food. Breakfast was a very minimal continental spread, just as shown on the website. For that price, this definitely wasn't the best place to stay. The apartments shown on the website look much better, but are also much more expensive. I didn't see those units. I changed hotels after the second night.

It was my first visit, and I enjoyed the whole experience. The place was clean, the service was amazing, and the food was delicious. I can't wait to come back.

The rooms were a pleasant size, and the price was good. There was a nice range of facilities, and the atmosphere was relaxed.

I felt there was racism against Moroccans, because the administration is fanatically French.
