Hôtel Les Ambassadeurs

The pool was clean and really nice, and I had a great time there. The hotel had a lovely location and a comfortable atmosphere, with friendly, welcoming staff. I highly recommend staying here.

The free WiFi was decent and the air conditioning worked, but most of the rest was disappointing. This is a very dated hotel. The shower pressure was poor, and the curtain didn’t cover the shower properly, so water ended up all over the bathroom. There are no bidets in the toilets, even though this is a Muslim country. There was no kettle or tea and coffee setup, and no bottled water. Bring your own shower gel, shampoo, and toothpaste, since none of those are supplied. The pool was freezing, and nobody seemed to use it. It’s tucked into an alley with no sun, so it feels pointless. Breakfast wasn’t bad, but the selection was limited. Get there early, because when something runs out they don’t replenish it. This definitely isn’t a four-star hotel to me, more like two or three stars.

The apartment had a bedroom, a kitchen open to the living room, a bathroom, and a balcony with a table and two chairs. We had booked a hotel room for a week based on the price, so getting an apartment was a surprise. It also had a TV, free WiFi, air conditioning, a pool, a fridge with freezer, and a cooking stove. The stove could be plugged in, but it was dirty. There was mold around the bathtub and sink. Cleaning is available if you ask, though you have to leave your key with the cleaners and pick it up later from reception. The area is busy but felt safe. We didn’t mind the noise, though I can see it bothering other people. There’s 24-hour security at the building entrance. We initially thought the bed was hard, but ended up sleeping really well. The staff were very friendly and helpful, 10/10 🙌🏽. They even printed our boarding tickets for 10DH each. The place is in Gueliz, on the new city side, about a 35-minute walk from the busy Medina. Restaurants surround it, supermarkets are close, and taxis are easy to get. I’d recommend it to young people or anyone on a budget. We’d book again for the area and the friendly staff, but I wish they’d sort out the mold and provide more or larger toiletries. Overall, it was a good experience 😊

The street was really noisy, and the bathroom had mold everywhere. What was advertised as a kitchen was just a sink in the lounge. There was a kettle, but I’d forgotten my portable cooker to use it. They showed us three other rooms. In one, the window frame was hanging out and couldn’t be shut. We stayed just one night, then checked out after a poor breakfast. I’m still waiting for a refund, and Booking.com has been difficult.
