On the second evening, we came back with cash, hoping to avoid another problem. The restaurant was nearly empty, but Mohommod still refused to seat us inside because we were “only ordering tea” and made us sit outdoors. He took 50 dirhams in cash, then refused to give us a receipt, saying it was a “small order.” The trouble had started the night before. After serving our tea, Mohommod refused card payment and first asked for euros or dollars instead of local currency. When we said we had no cash, he got angry and rude, and told us it was our problem to find money late at night. We waited around 15 minutes under stress before he finally accepted the card, while behaving disrespectfully and pressuring us about tips. His conduct left us feeling intimidated, uncomfortable, and unwelcome throughout. This was one of the worst experiences we have had in a hotel restaurant. Refusing a receipt after taking cash is unacceptable and highly suspicious. We will not return, and we strongly warn other guests to be careful.
