Lodge K Hôtel & Spa

I went to Lodge K recently, having last visited in 2021, and was shocked by how much the service and facilities had gone downhill. We paid 1500dh for two people, and that only covered two dishes, either a main with a starter or a main with dessert. Not even a soft drink was included. In Marrakesh, almost everywhere offers a three-course meal of salad, main and dessert for the same price or less. The towels were disgusting, unusable for drying ourselves, and the sunbeds were old, dirty and completely worn out. After swimming, we ordered lunch. The salmon salad and roast vegetable pesto starters were actually good, but we waited 40 minutes for the main courses. When I asked, staff said the morning team had left without handing over to the evening team. None of the waiters had even noticed we’d been waiting so long. I didn’t make a scene, just asked politely for our food because we were starving. Another 15 minutes passed before the mains arrived: a plain, bland chicken tagine and the worst risotto I’ve ever tasted. It was milky and flavourless, topped with deep-fried prawns. It was disgusting, like rice pudding with prawn tempuras. They offered to make something else, but by then we were tired and hungry and just wanted to swim a little and leave. The owner offered me a drink or fruit salad, as though that could make up for charging 1500dh for this mess. Awful experience. I’ll never go back. They just want your money and don’t care about quality or service. Avoid this place!

We were there for a wedding and loved how many pretty corners the hotel had for photos. The rooms were lovely too, and really spacious.

The spa was a real treat, and our room was spacious, spotless, and elegant, with comfortable bedding and beautiful views. The whole hotel felt luxurious and peaceful. We were there to celebrate my wife’s 60th birthday, and Zaineb and the team made us feel welcome from the minute we arrived. They added thoughtful touches, including a decorated room and a delicious cake, and were kind throughout our stay. We left feeling like friends rather than guests. Thanks to Zaineb and everyone for making the birthday memorable. We’d happily return to Lodge K Hôtel & Spa.

The food was restaurant quality, with very fresh ingredients and generous portions. The hotel was also wonderfully quiet and relaxed, and sometimes we had the pool to ourselves. The grounds were lovely, and every staff member we met was kind and friendly. It’s about a 15min taxi ride from the city centre, and taxis were easy to arrange. For a relaxing break, I’d highly recommend it. Best hotel I’ve ever stayed at.
