Maison Brummell Majorelle

The host was attentive and welcoming, and even surprised me with a gift of oud. My birthday wasn't during the stay, but it fell in the same week, which made the gesture extra lovely. The place has a calm, serene feel, with a beautiful, well-maintained pool and a quiet setting that made it easy to unwind. It blends modern comfort with authentic charm, and I had a wonderful stay.

The Garden Room was lovely, especially the comfortable bed and little private garden. My favorite detail was in the bathroom: when you turn off the tap after washing your hands, the final drops land on the polished brass drain plug with a soft, tinkling sound. There are lots of thoughtful aesthetic touches like that, and the Hammam is gorgeous too. Book an hour if you can. The steamroom was hot, with dense steam just as it should be. Maison Brummell Majorelle has only eight rooms, so it never felt crowded. My partner and I spent four nights there in the first week of February, and the whole hotel felt quiet, relaxed, and intimate. There was no noise or anything to disturb the peace. Orange blossom scent drifted through the air, and the lush gardens were beautifully arranged. Walid, Siham and Ali were warm and welcoming, with a natural gift for hospitality. They genuinely enjoy talking with guests and making them feel at home, and can arrange drivers, guides, recommendations, and activities. Everything was very clean and kept to a high standard. We didn't have a single issue during our stay.

We spent four nights here at the end of October and just got back. It was quiet, with plenty of room to relax both indoors and out, and the food was excellent. The staff were friendly and helpful throughout. We were glad to stay outside the much busier medina. The location is still very convenient: a taxi to the medina costs around £5 and takes about 10 minutes, while the lovely restaurants in Gueliz and the Majorelle are easy to reach on foot. We also had a lovely, quiet, private massage in the hotel’s hammam. One thing to know is that our bathroom had no door, apart from one on the toilet. It was quite open, which we hadn't picked up from the photos. It suited us, but might not suit everyone. A wonderful place, highly recommend.

The breakfast was delicious, and our room, with its bath and outdoor patio, was hard to beat. Christian and the staff made us feel at home, and the care put into the decor, food, and little details made the whole stay feel special. I loved this boutique hotel and can’t wait to come back. I’ll be recommending it to friends heading to Marrakesh.
