Riad Chennaoui

The owner was kind, and we enjoyed the good breakfast. The riad is in a convenient spot, though the rooms felt cold and weren’t quite clean. Fine for a night.

I loved the view from the roof. The building itself is beautiful, and the rooms were clean with a decent bathroom. It’s close to the markets but still surprisingly quiet near those busy streets.

The room was the weak point for us. We had one up on the roof terrace, with old furniture, no decoration, and wires coming out of the wall. The bathroom smelled bad and the shower barely had any water. The rest of the Riad is a nice space, and the staff welcomed us warmly. It’s easy to find and very well placed for exploring the Medina. Breakfast was good, and they made it for us even though we had an early departure. For one night on a small budget it’s okay, but I wouldn’t choose it for a longer stay in Marrakech.

The things I liked most were the quiet atmosphere, friendly staff, and a pleasant terrace. Riad Channaoui is also handy for shops and Jamaa El Fna Square, and the shower had reliably hot water. Still, I wouldn’t suggest it if comfort matters to you. The breakfast was a letdown: stale olives, no cheese, and few choices, so I had to buy bread myself. My room wasn’t clean, the furniture was old and uncomfortable, and the door didn’t feel secure. There was no shampoo, soap, or document safe. I also disliked the pillows and blankets, and the cupboard was in terrible shape.
