Majorelle Hostel

The hosts are what make this place so special. They’ll answer questions, explain what to do and avoid, and point you toward places to visit. Take time to sit and talk with them; you’ll learn a lot. The rooms are good, there’s a lovely terrace, and the hostel is about 200 meters from the main plaza.

A really pleasant little hostel, with friendly, relaxed staff who I enjoyed spending time with. It’s part of a family that owns several nearby hostels and hotels, so guests can swim in the pools at the other places. That was a godsend in Morocco’s intense heat.

The team made me feel at home in the Medina. They’re kind, friendly, and know the area well, and they can help with local questions and competitive excursion rates. They’ll even stay up chatting, get a bite to eat, or explore the Medina with you. The hostel felt safe and clean, and I had a wonderful time here ❤️❤️

The good parts were the location near the center, a nice common area and rooftop balcony, a good breakfast, comfortable beds and pillows, and hot showers. One host was very friendly. But I caught lice here, and there were shards of glass in our beds. A mosque next door woke us at 6:30 every morning. I didn’t feel welcomed by the inaudible, strange receptionist, who seemed super high to me. There’s no key, and the doorbell rings loudly through the night. Three people work here, but only one seemed to know what was going on. The bathroom doors are cardboard, and the slack laundry lines meant our clothes never dried. They offered breakfast before we left, then didn’t wake up to make it. They also asked us to give them five-star reviews.
