medina-in Auberge

Youness was the best receptionist. He treated us really well and gave us very good advice. If we return to Morocco, we’ll definitely stay here again. I highly recommend this hotel. If anything goes wrong, they’ll sort it out. Thank you so much.

The location just outside the medina was perfect, and the room was clean and okay. But check-in was a bad experience. I’d booked three nights two weeks ahead and prepaid through booking.com. When I arrived at 10 PM, they couldn’t find my name on their papers and had no computer to check the booking. They said there was no room available. After I argued and the receptionist called someone, they finally gave me a room, saying they’d put other guests in another hotel. Looking at reviews on booking and Google, it seems this has happened before. I don’t know why they do it, but I can’t recommend the hotel because of this. I’ve stayed in hundreds of hotels in over 30 countries, and this was a first for me. Not a good start to my Morocco trip. Avoid this cheap hotel.

The service was the worst I’ve ever seen. The girl working there was disrespectful, kept playing music that made it impossible to feel calm, and spent all the time talking and laughing loudly on her phone. You can only stay one night, no longer, so the next day you have to go back out and find somewhere else to sleep.

Great location, with friendly staff. The room was lovely and quiet, and the bed was comfortable.
