Mogador Opera

Being within walking distance of the train station was a real plus, and the staff were friendly. Breakfast choices were limited, but the F&B staff gave such outstanding service that it helped make up for that. The rooms are old and the furniture is quite worn. Maintenance seemed poorly handled: the toilet plumbing leaked, the bathroom door lock didn’t work, and the in-room safe was locked. There weren’t any towels when we checked in, so we had to ask for them. It can be a decent place to stay if you keep your expectations in check.

The rooms could use some renovation for a four-star hotel. On the positive side, the location is central and near the train station, and the customer service was fantastic, from reception to the restaurant. Breakfast was delicious, with plenty of food, pastries and juices.

An agency booked this hotel for me. Its location was convenient for the train station, restaurants and cafés, but I won’t return or recommend it to friends or family. The hotel needs a full refresh, the air conditioning was bad, the beds weren’t comfortable and breakfast was just average. Some staff were rude and unhelpful. When I asked about things like the gym and spa at check-in, nobody told me anything. I was also disappointed by the stereotyping of people based on their nationality.

The hotel is not far from either the airport or the city center. From the outside, it looks like a cool, typical big modern city hotel, but the rooms and bathrooms aren’t very modern. There’s an outdoor pool, though I didn’t get the chance to try it.
