Riad Amya & Spa

Sandrine and the whole team made us feel so welcome. The riad is lovely and beautiful, in a great spot that feels like an oasis amid Marrakech’s busy center. Staff were flexible and had lots of good recommendations, and the food was lovely. I could have spent the whole visit inside and still had an amazing holiday. I already miss the place. ❣️ The one downside for me was the air in the room. We slept with the windows open, and maybe the AC was broken. I’m sensitive to that sort of thing.

The staff were friendly and clearly trying to provide good service. Our room was clean, and breakfast was decent, though less extensive than at most places. The first night, the heater in our room didn’t work. They tried to fix it and arrange other heating, but sorting it out took up a lot of our holiday time. They offered a free cup of tea at night for the inconvenience. The location also wasn’t convenient. Their estimates for walking to places were too low; most attractions took us around 30-40 minutes on foot. Taxis didn’t want to come or go from there unless we agreed to pay double or triple the usual rate. The riad’s atmosphere wasn’t very inspiring and lacked the charm of other places available for less than half the price. This was our second riad in Marrakech and fourth in Morocco. It cost 2-3 times as much as the others and had about a third of the amenities, so it didn’t feel like good value. We were very disappointed to spend our last nights here. At 2-3 times lower rates, it might be fine for the night before a flight. Otherwise, I’d choose somewhere better and more enjoyable.

We fell in love with Morocco here. The food, the people, the location, and Riad Amya all made it special, and the team were wonderful and helpful with the children. Raja’s cooking and the breakfast were a real plus. Sandrine, the owner, gave us great advice for exploring Marrakech and the surrounding area. Merci tellement. Shoukran bsef.

Slimane was attentive without hovering and put together a warm, generous breakfast spread. We had a geat time in Marrekexch at Amya Riad Spa. A must stay!
