Riad Bab Aljana

The homemade breakfast was scrumptious, freshly baked, and the dinners were amazing too if you want a relaxing night in. The owner and staff were always helpful and accommodating. This beautifully renovated Riad is a gem in the middle of the Medina, on a very quiet street. Nothing else to add, I just can't wait to come back. Thanks so much for everything Josiane and Khadija.

Clean, quiet, close to Jemaa el-Fnaa, and the staff were amazing. Still, being so close to the square made the experience feel extremely touristy, when we'd hoped for more of a local feel in Marrakech. The strict house rules surprised us and made us feel uncomfortable and unwelcome. The booking description also wasn't accurate: there was no TV in the room. That may not bother most people, but we travel 9-10 months of the year, and watching a movie with my husband when we're tired or don't want to go out brings us joy and a sense of normalcy. The bed and pillows were quite hard, and neck pain led us to sleep without a pillow. Breakfast could be improved.

Breakfast in the serene courtyard became one of our favorite parts of the day, and the interiors and finishes were gorgeous. We booked four nights at Riad Bab Aljana and were incredibly happy with our stay. The owner and staff were kind and helpful, spoke perfect English and French, and gave us great recommendations and safety tips while having a lovely conversation. They went out of their way to book transportation and even mail a postcard for us. A tip: take their transportation offer to and from the hotel. It was so much better than dealing with taxis and possible scams.

The breakfast was outstanding, and the place was immaculately clean. Its decor had genuine taste, without the usual tourist kitsch. Despite being centrally located, it was incredibly quiet, which felt almost magical in Marrakech. A hidden paradise, and highly recommended.
