Riad Bjoujna

It was a lovely, clean riad and felt like home. Yassine was a friendly, helpful host. He printed our boarding passes and even prepared breakfast for us very early.

It’s a nice riad, not too far from the main square and not buried deep in the back alleys. It can still be tricky to find, so plan ahead or you may end up paying a local “guide” to take you there. Be aware that it’s split across two buildings. The one where you check in has breakfast and the terrace. The other is around the corner and has just three rooms, a common area, and a terrace. Both buildings are equally nice and comfortable.

The room was spacious and spotless, and the riad has a cozy family feel. There’s also a very cute cat that’ll hop into your lap if you let it. It wasn’t easy to find, though. A faded plaque with the riad’s name on the door is what marks it.

Be careful, this felt like a scam. There was hookah smoke everywhere when we arrived, and they told us we’d need to book somewhere else for the other nights because they were doing maintenance. When we returned, they had a bigger group of tourists to host. They also sold us a desert tour, but the place we stayed was disgusting and had no hot water. They tell you you’ll stay in a specific place, but you don’t. It’s all a scam.
