Riad Amiris

We had to leave Marrakech a day early, even though we’d booked three nights instead of two and could no longer cancel. Hamid, who I think is the owner, was extremely kind and gave us a room for free when we returned a few days later, to make up for the paid night we missed. He also suggested lots of things to see. That generosity, and how helpful everyone was, is why I’m giving five stars and would book here again when I return in May. The riad is easy to find, right in the middle of the old Mdina and just two minutes from the main square. Some staff don’t speak English very well, but we understood each other fine. The staff had booked us an airport taxi for 2 am, but nobody was there to show us where to go, so we went out and found another taxi ourselves. Thankfully that was easy. If your room is on the ground floor, bring earplugs, since you can hear everything happening in the foyer and it can be loud. Even with those downsides, the staff were extremely nice and helped us a lot. I highly recommend the riad.

A comfortable, clean place, though nothing fancy. The breakfast was great and the staff were friendly. It’s on a quiet street, just a few blocks from the main square in Marrakesh, so the location worked really well.

A scam. They work with street thugs to move the Google Maps location so you have to pay someone to find the hotel. The hotel itself is mediocre and not worth the money. The owner pretended the card machine was broken so I’d pay cash. Go somewhere else. They can’t be trusted.

A really nice place to stay if it costs under €40. It’s beside Jemaa l fnaa.
