Riad Des Deux Palais

Ouahib and the girl in the kitchen were brilliant, and the whole riad was very clean. The room was tiny for the price, though. There was a rank smell from the poorly ventilated toilet, and with no door between it and the room, the odor drifted in. Our last night was very noisy. The shared toilet on the ground floor was in very poor shape.

The terrace was lovely, and it was quiet despite being right on the edge of the medina. The location worked perfectly for us. The staff were helpful, especially the young manager Wahib.

Being right in the city center made everything easier, but what really made our stay was the people and the relaxing feel of the riad. Vqhid.. was friendly like a member of the family and made us feel special right away. He helped whenever we needed, with tips on Marrakesh, bargaining, and where to shop. There were lovely people, birds, and especially Messi, the bird. The place had beautiful energy and a cultural feeling. It felt just like home, and was the best hotel we’ve stayed in. Love, love, love!

Hannah, her sister, and their mom do a great job keeping the riad clean. The breakfast was good, though it was the same each morning. The bed looked like a queen, but was actually two singles pushed together. The paintings, nice lighting, and quiet atmosphere made for a beautiful stay. The roof terrace seemed new, and we liked having tea and a beer there while looking at the stars. The souks are a four-minute walk away, and Jemaa El Fna square is another five minutes on foot. Shopping crowds, motorcycles, and donkey carts can make the trip take longer and feel lively. We stayed four nights in early March. The portraits of golf greats inspired me to ask Hannah to arrange a pickup for a round of golf, while my wife went to a wonderful hammam that Hannah recommended.
