Riad Eden

It was easy to reach the Medina and Jemaa El Fna from here, just a few steps away. After a long day on Marrakech’s busy roads, the peaceful setting was a good place to unwind. The decor and hospitality gave it a real Moroccan feel. Everyone was welcoming and ready to help, and breakfast was superb, a filling, energizing start to the day.

We were there for just two days. At first, the welcome was warm and the staff seemed kind and trustworthy, but that impression changed. We went out to see the city after making sure our room was locked. When we returned that afternoon, the room had been cleaned and several items of clothing were missing from my mother’s suitcase. We initially thought she might have left them at home, but asked the staff if they’d seen anything. Everyone said they knew nothing. After we got home, it became clear to us that the clothes had been stolen. We tried several times to contact the riad and had a very hard time reaching them. When we finally explained what had happened, they said we should have reported the missing items earlier, even though we already had. Soon afterward, our phone numbers were blocked. Having belongings stolen at a place that presents itself as “like family” is shocking and unacceptable. I absolutely don’t recommend staying here. If something similar happens to you, speak up and leave a review so others don’t end up robbed like we were.

The hosts at Riad Eden were wonderful, and breakfast was a 10/10. Our bedrooms were excellent quality, the showers were nice, and housekeeping cleaned every day. The staff were so accommodating and even got breakfast ready really early for our departure. I’d absolutely recommend it.

The rooftop was one of our favorite parts. We spent many afternoons there in the sun and lovely weather before heading out to explore in the evenings. Riad Eden Marrakech is tucked among a charming group of boutique hotels, a cosy oasis away from the busy streets. It’s a great fit for a comfortable, authentic stay, though someone looking for a luxurious hotel experience might prefer the coast. We stayed in the chocolate room. It can feel chilly at night, but the air conditioning warmed it up comfortably. The boiler gave us wonderfully hot showers, and we really appreciated the dark, windowless room at the back for sleeping. There was a balcony too, so we could open the door for natural light. The staff made us feel welcome throughout. Most spoke mainly French, but we got by with our limited French and their little English. Everyone was friendly and accommodating. Breakfast was light but satisfying, enough to get us going while leaving room for later, and we found some charming places to eat nearby. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would recommend Riad Eden Marrakech to anyone wanting to experience the heart of Marrakech.
