Riad Jwido Marrakech

We booked two nights at Riad Jwido. On the first, the manager refused to give us the terrace room we had reserved through Booking, without explaining why. Then, because of booking management errors, he told us the next night that every room had already been given away. He seemed bothered by us waiting in the hallway, while just a few meters away he was smoking hashish with friends in the little kitchen. As I looked for somewhere else to stay, the new place asked me to get in touch with the Riad Jwido manager so they could agree on how to resolve the mess. When I opened the kitchen door, I found his very high friends shaving the manager's hair. After arguing with him for a while about the refund, we eventually got another nearby riad room paid for.

I had paid €120 in advance for three nights, but because they had overbooked due to their own mistake, there was no room for me. At 10:30 pm they told me to cancel the reservation and leave. I noticed in the Google reviews that many other people had apparently had the same experience, which made me suspicious. I recorded my conversation with the owner and asked Booking.com's customer service to cancel and refund the booking. The €120 was refunded successfully the next morning, but by then I no longer felt like sightseeing in Marrakech.

We arrived late in the evening after a long search, since there was no sign on the door, and were welcomed warmly. Then we found out our room had been double-booked. The manager kept saying he knew how Booking.com worked and that we should trust him, promising to sort it out. He persuaded us to cancel through Booking.com, and after that there were endless arguments about our refund and where he would find us another place to stay. It all became too much, so we left and went to a different hotel. A complete rip-off!!!

My booked room had been given to someone else, so we were left without a place to stay that night. After some discussion, the caretaker sorted it out by paying for another room. While this was happening, we saw a family facing the same issue: they had booked two rooms but received only one. Both reservations had been booked and paid for on Booking.
