Riad Ramz

The only good thing about this place was the location. We spent six days in this dirty nightmare of a riad. They never cleaned our room or changed the towels, and on our departure day they didn't offer breakfast because our flight was at 5:45 and breakfast wasn't possible then. I paid an extra 160 euros to Eden Viaggi for a superior room, so be very careful if you book this riad. I strongly advise against staying here.

We were greeted very warmly, and the location is great. But be aware that Riad Ramz is actually several riads spread across the area, and you may not get the one shown in the pictures. Our room wasn't clean when we arrived, with a lot of hair on the floor. For the final two nights they moved us to another riad because of "renovations," without telling us in advance. The price is low, but the service needs work.

We booked fairly late, and from what we'd researched and what was available, Riad Ramz seemed like the best option. What a good choice it turned out to be. Our flight got in early, before check-in. When the transfer dropped us off, a very kind staff member was waiting to show us to the Riad, which is at the end of a dead-end street. They offered welcome tea and a typical little cake. Our room wasn't ready yet, but they let us leave our bags so we could start exploring. The day before, they always asked what time we wanted breakfast. It was served hot and on time, with a good variety of local products. There was always coffee, milk and tea too. We went out for dinner every night and got back to the Riad area around 22h/23h. We never felt unsafe on its street. They ask whether we want the rooms cleaned, and we have to leave the key so they can do it, since there's only one. That means they can't get into our belongings. I don't think anything like that would happen anyway.

The location is hard to beat, right by the souk and the main square, and the riad itself has some charm. But the advertising is misleading: Riad Ramz lists services it doesn't have, including a spa or wellness center and private parking. Cleanliness was only average, with people constantly coming and going and no clear idea who they were. Staff also kept trying to charge extra fees.
