Riad Tibibt

I’m furious about what happened and want other guests to know. I booked Riad Tibibt, but after arriving at the riad shown in the photos, a staff member called Erwan, his boss and the owner, then led me out through alleyways for about five minutes to a different place called 'Zelda'. Its owner told me it had nothing to do with the riad I’d booked. Zelda was much more basic, with a smaller, simpler room that was dark and unlike the room in my booking photos. The riad itself also lacked the beautiful plants I’d seen in the pictures. When I told Erwan I didn’t want to stay there, he said it was my problem and that I had to contact the booking website. He said his riad was fully booked and seemed unconcerned, telling me it was “just one night.” It’s disgraceful to take my money and send me somewhere completely different. I’ve included photos of where I was taken, how it differed from the riad and room I booked, and the staff member leading me through the alleyways. Do not risk staying here.

The rooftop terrace has lovely city views, and the food is authentic Moroccan cooking done really well. I’ve stayed everywhere from roadside motels to fancy five-star hotels, but nowhere has felt as much like home as this place. The service and quiet are hard to put into words, while the hotel still feels like Morocco rather than a westernized place aimed at tourists. Everyone, from the manager to the cleaning crew, was smiling and seemed to truly enjoy helping make our stay the best it could be. If you’re thinking of visiting Marrakech, this is the hotel I’d choose.

This was my fourth riad in Marrakech, and easily the most beautiful. I only got to spend one night at Riad Tibibt, which honestly makes me sad. Osama and Said were so welcoming, and the riad itself was stunning. I’ve shared a few photos, but they only show a little of what it’s like to see the place in person. If you’re thinking about booking, go for it. I think you’ll fall in love with it too.

Said, the manager, really went out of his way for us. He arranged rides to and from the airport, walked us to and from the riad when we needed, and brought us tea and breakfast, all at no charge. My friend and I had a wonderful stay. The riad is beautiful, the food is delicious, the rooms are comfortable, and the location is hard to beat. We’re grateful for the care and would happily recommend Riad Tibibt. We can’t wait to come back.
