The pool is grand and links to a second one, with a bar between them where service was always quick. The slides only operate at set times, so ask when you arrive. Breakfast had good variety and tasted good. Service could be slow, though. We arrived to find no shower soap, and it took hours and four trips to the front desk before it was refilled.

I’d been worried after reading the negative reviews, but was pleasantly surprised. The hotel is beautiful, and while it may not be brand new, the rooms were clean and spacious. The pool area was pleasant and well kept, and there was lots of choice at the delicious breakfast. Service was very good, and I really enjoyed the hammam, sauna, and massage. The TV and fridge in our room didn’t work, and they weren’t fixed after we reported it. The kids’ pool and slides were out of action, presumably because it was off season. Dinner at the hotel restaurant was massively overpriced and not nice. For the price, I still thought it was a really lovely hotel, just not five-star luxury.

Magador Menara was lovely when we stayed there, so we expected this place to be similar. We were badly wrong. It’s so outdated that plug sockets had fallen off the wall, and the balcony furniture was missing. Breakfast was disgusting, with everything freezing cold even when service opened. My guess is that it’s prepared ahead and put out at 7am. Flies and wasps were everywhere, and getting fruit juice felt like running a gauntlet of a thousand wasps. During the day, nearly the whole menu was unavailable except for one kind of pizza, burgers, and really nasty chips. The drinks menu wasn’t available either, just orange juice, pineapple, Coke, and water. And the hammam was overheated for 90 minutes. If you value your life and lungs, avoid it. This place needs knocking down.

The indoor pool costs 250 MAD per person for one hour, which I found excessive, and there are no spa services included. Guests also pay for bottled drinking water, something I hadn’t encountered on earlier visits to Morocco. The website gives very little information about these extra charges. There are three hotels close together with almost identical names, and this one presents itself online as a five-star property called "Grand Mogador Agdal." From my experience, it doesn’t meet that standard. I wouldn’t stay here again and, in my opinion, it deserves no more than a generous three stars.
