Villa Nour

The bar tender was lovely and professional, and the property itself is beautiful with plenty of potential. The heated pool also did what we hoped for. But this was the only disappointment among the hotels we stayed in around Morocco, most of them locally managed. We booked directly with the owner that same morning, yet our room wasn’t ready when we arrived that evening. The hand shower and glass living room table were broken, which wasn’t suitable with kids. You’d expect rooms in a small hotel to be checked after cleaning. There were around 70 day visitors expected for Sunday brunch and pool use on our arrival day, so we agreed to come in the evening. Reception wasn’t open overnight, despite the website saying it was 24 hours. The bar tender had to make the bed, and after I called, the manager promised not to charge us for that night and said they’d talk to us the next day. That conversation never happened. We found the owner relaxing and entertaining friends at the bar instead. In the end, 30 Euros minus the exchange rate came off the final bill. Breakfast began 30 minutes after the posted opening time, and there was nobody to ask. When a waiter arrived, he didn’t know the hours. The pool also opened at different times each day. The hotel seems focused on day passes, bringing in many outside guests. We never found the quiet atmosphere we’d hoped for, with at least 60 people by the pool at any time, more than the rooms could accommodate. I gave the owner my email at check-in and the manager again when we left, but still haven’t received the invoice. They refused my request for a printed copy. Communication was poor throughout, and we didn’t feel genuine care from the owner or management. With better service and maintenance, this could be an amazing place.

The grounds were stunning, and the staff were attentive and professional when we visited on a day pass. Everything looked beautiful. We’d definitely come back and stay next time. Thank you!

The rooms, service, atmosphere, garden, pool, and overall vibe were all great. Breakfast was very basic and could be better. It’s really quiet at night, with nothing to do.
