Gîte Raid Oriental

The location is genuinely beautiful and peaceful, and the receptionist was kind and helpful. But after what happened on the quad ride, I won’t come back. Four of us booked an hour at Riad Oriental for 6:00 PM. When it got dark, none of the quads had working lights, including the guide’s, and we were on high mountain roads with no guardrails, unable to see where we were going. I had to steer with one hand and hold my phone flashlight with the other so my sister and aunts behind me could see and avoid going over the edge. The guide couldn’t repair the lights and kept saying we’d arrive in 10 minutes, but we spent nearly two hours in the dark. We finally stopped and asked to be picked up because we felt unsafe and couldn’t trust the guide. He hesitated when we asked him to call reception, so I called myself. The staff said we had chosen to ride late, even though they had recommended 6:00 PM. We would never have booked if we’d known about the lights. Reception said the boss understood what happened, but the boss still demanded payment for 45 minutes of the ride. We disagreed. It felt like the boss cared more about money than guests’ safety. They also refused to give us the owner’s contact information, and management left us feeling ignored and disrespected. My sister and aunt were panicking. What should have been relaxing was terrifying, and felt like a serious risk to our safety.
