The room was pretty cozy, with a spacious bathroom, though the balcony was smaller than I expected. The service was poor. Staff didn’t respond well or deal with problems properly. When I called the front desk, nobody answered for a long time, and they only picked up on my third call. The person who answered was rude and unprofessional. I asked to have bottled water brought to my room, but it never came, so I had to go downstairs and buy it myself. That service is unacceptable. The whole stay was disappointing, and I wouldn’t recommend it. I’ll never come back!

The beautiful design stood out, especially the breakfast room, which has a Bagan-era look and an old-world feel. I was quite satisfied with my stay at The Pegu Lodge and would rate it 4.0. One thing: there was soap and other amenities, but no shower cream when I was there.

We were among the first guests when this brand new hotel opened, and the welcome was warm. Our double room was quiet, with a huge bed, plenty of space, and a balcony, so we slept well. The building is bright, the air conditioning worked well, and the bath had plenty of hot water. Breakfast was OK. There’s no lift, but staff can carry your bags up. I think this could be the best place in Bago once they’ve had time to sort out a few minor issues.

The staff are kind, friendly, and lovely, and the spacious rooms are neat and tidy with good lighting. Breakfast is a buffet, with fresh, delicious food. The hotel feels luxurious, and arriving there gives me a sense of the countryside. If you’re planning a trip to bago, it’s a must-stay.

The rooms were fine, though the bathrooms smelled a little musty. In the morning we had to ask them to turn the water on, and the shower wouldn’t drain. The fridge only runs while you’re in the room, so you can’t keep food cold while you’re out. It’s an okay hotel option in Bago, about a fifteen-minute walk from the highway.
