Green Haven Hotel

There’s no building in front of the hotel, just pine forest, so it’s pretty quiet. The staff are friendly, and breakfast had a decent variety for a hotel like this. The rooms are fairly average but comfortable. 4/5.

The plants and flowers around the hotel are lovely, and walking past them smells nice. The scenery is refreshing, and the outside platforms by the rooms have several of them. Service was just fine, but breakfast was below average. That’s about all I liked. Cleanliness is a real problem. The rooms are old, most are very small, and the doors and floors creak. Only the corner rooms are spacious. The bedsheets didn’t look clean, and we had to ask for pillowcases. There was nothing in the minifridge. The bathroom was worst of all: the lock didn’t work, so they provided a door bolt as a workaround; there were dead flies on the floor; the flush handle was rusty; and the shower curtain didn’t look clean. A twin or double room has only one showerhead. The water for washing and bathing was yellowish, and the room had an odd smell. The air wasn’t bad, it just didn’t smell normal to me. As someone with OCD, I sat outside until bedtime because the air outside was really fresh. I’d suggest checking the room and bathroom before booking. The flowers are the only reason I’m giving one star.

The building is quite pretty, with a small garden, and the white walls with green curtains make the room look great. You can order food at reception, and they’ll buy it from another restaurant. The bathroom is narrow and needs maintenance. Service could be better, and the staff and owner should give guests a warmer welcome.

It’s peaceful and suits a relaxing trip, but the rooms could use some improvements. The place is away from downtown, so if you’re not driving, you’ll need to consider hiring a motorbike to get around.
