Sky Motel Kalaw

It's a simple, reasonably priced budget motel in kalaw, and the staff are friendly and very helpful. Breakfast isn't included in the room price. In the morning, noise from room cleaning and other rooms kept us from sleeping well. I'd give it three stars.

We got to town very early and could wait inside to warm up, then got a room early because one was free. The staff were really nice and helpful. Breakfast was a generous buffet, and the pancakes were delicious. Our room was clean, with hot water and a good mattress. The price was fair too. We had a great time and recommend it.

They let us rest on the sofa at reception when we arrived very early in the morning, and gave us a blanket to stay warm. We checked in around 8am, and the room was very clean, with comfortable beds and pillows, a kettle, hot water, and a spotless bathroom. Our room was on the roof, on the third floor, and unfortunately had no WiFi. We could connect to the second floor's WiFi most of the time. The location is close to the market. Breakfast was a tasty buffet with a wonderful selection: juice, coffee, tea, fried eggs, toast, honey, jam, butter, pancakes, fruit, rice, and vegetables. Sometimes it took a while to refill items that had run out, but mornings get busy, so that was understandable. We booked our bus to Yangon through the hostel and were told it left at 9pm. At the last minute, staff said it was actually leaving at 7pm, so we had to rush after dinner. Luckily, they gave us a free ride to the bus station. We were very satisfied with our stay.

The location's a little far from the centre, but it's only an eight-minute walk, so it's no big deal. We came very early and weren't charged extra, and the staff were really nice. Breakfast was good too. There's no a/c in the rooms, but nights in Kalaw are so cold that we didn't need it. Definitely recommend.
