HOSTEL PRESIDENT Yangon

I've stayed here often before and was always happy with the service, so this last visit was a letdown. We checked out of Room 413 on November 4, 2025, around 10:00 AM, and waited at reception for the room inspection. They explicitly told us we'd left nothing behind, but we had in fact forgotten a personal item. The next day, November 5, at 5:30 PM, we called to ask about it and described the item. The receptionist didn't seem to check the lost-and-found log properly, gave no sign they knew of anything, and said they'd call us back. Later they did call and confirm they had found it and kept it since the day before. I'm glad the item was safe, but the hotel already had our number and should have contacted us as soon as it was found after checkout. We shouldn't have needed to discover it ourselves a day later. This handling showed a clear decline in attentive service.

Getting around is convenient from here, with Junction city and Shwedagon pagoda nearby. The area is cleaner and quieter than downtown, and there are cheap noodle shops and markets close by. The rooms are really small, with no closet space and narrow separate toilet and shower stalls. The downstairs restaurant serves European-style food at expensive prices. I could eat in Yangon for two days for what one meal costs there.

The location is great, and the room was nice. Staff were good too, so it's worth staying here. I love it!

I go to Real fitness gym early in the morning, and the parking security keeps telling us to move our car even when there's no room to get closer to the other cars. One time they called the gym phone just to make us move it where they wanted. It's not even rush hour then. Do they do this because we're women? We know how to park, and we don't need that bossy attitude. I've put up with it many times, but now I've had enough. I'm really unhappy. Is hotel management trying to push gym guests around, or are the securities just rude? Please teach them some manners.
