Rose Palace Hotel Yangon

Breakfast runs from 7am-10am, and it's the same each morning. You can ask for breakfast to go, which is just a sandwich and bottled water. The room was cleaned every day. Remember to switch on the hot water, and to power the room you need to put your key or the tag from the complimentary water in the slot by the light switches. You can leave your key at the front desk during the day, and if you're staying a while it may need reprogramming. International guests need to show their passport at check-in, and the hotel makes a photocopy. I enjoyed my stay.

I didn't stay at Rose Palace Hotel Yangon-Myanmar, but I'd consider it if I returned. My friend, Mr. Isaac, and I visited the top-floor bar and restaurant, where the view of the surroundings was beautiful, especially at sunset. I set up my camera while we waited for the sun to go down and had some food and beer. It's newly built and reasonably priced.

This is the second time in a row the hotel has told us that a room we'd booked was taken, then expected us to compromise. We even visited a few days before our stay to confirm the rooms were available, but at check-in they still didn't have enough for us. When a hotel is fully booked, how can staff allow another guest to extend their stay, whatever the reason? If that happens, they should move the guest to a hotel of equal or higher class, without compromising on the quality of the replacement. The way staff make these decisions affects the hotel's reputation more than its appearance. Management should review whether the person making these decisions is suited to the role before the hotel's rating drops further.

A good choice if you like peace and quiet. The rooms are lovely and tidy, and the hotel serves delicious breakfast.
