The Corporate Hotel Central

This was my third time staying at Corporate. It works well enough as a business hotel, and the rooms and facilities are basic but functional. The location is really good, with most places within walking distance. On my last visit, though, my non-smoking room smelled a bit of stale smoke. The aircon was disabled, so there was no ventilation, and I had trouble sleeping for the first two nights.

The room was old and could use renovation, but I had a comfortable four-night stay. Thanks to Markus and Nomin for being so helpful. The hotel is right in the city center, with a sauna and pool. Breakfast was decent, and the menu had different food each day.

I had to argue at the desk to get the room I’d booked. The employees stayed calm and polite while denying what was clearly shown on my booking receipt. They also tried to charge me using the checkout day’s USD exchange rate. I had to show the reservation again before they agreed to charge the amount contracted when I booked.

The rooms feel worn and dated, and it takes a long time for the water to get hot. Still, the location makes it easy to walk to lots of places in UB. The restaurant and Cafe serve a good mix of local and international food, and the hotel staff are fantastic. They’re what make the stay worthwhile.
