The Embassy Valletta Hotel

What really made the stay fabulous was the staff, and we're already looking at a longer return visit to the embassy. The location couldn't have been better, right by the main attractions and places to visit, and the room was well insulated so we couldn't hear anything. We also loved the door opening onto a juliet balcony, with a lovely view up and down the streets. The hotel is stunning throughout, from reception to the rooftop, pool, and rooms. We were greeted as soon as we opened the door, had our bags taken, and were offered complimentary drinks. Check-in was easy, and our requests were ready. We arrived early in the morning before the room was ready, but the hotel called us soon after to say it was. They also offered us somewhere to refresh and change while we waited. We were offered spa treatments and private tours, which were great. Our triple room was excellent, with robes and slippers, a coffee machine, a fridge, and ice water. There was a fresh water machine just outside the doorway. The room smelled absolutely lovely. When I asked at reception, they said the hotel had a fragrance made just for it that could be purchased, so I bought some. We'd just come back from a short break in Malta, and this was without a doubt the best hotel we've ever stayed in.

The rooms were immaculate and exceptionally comfortable, and the staff made us feel welcome from the start. We originally had a booking at another hotel, so a refund wasn't possible, but that didn't take away from the amazing experience we had with this team. We're already planning another trip to Malta and would gladly stay here. I especially want to thank Aleksandar, the Guest Experience Manager. He personally showed us the rooms, explained the amenities, and was kind, professional, and attentive to everything we needed. His enthusiasm and helpfulness made a lasting impression. I had to write a separate review for him because one didn't seem enough to show our gratitude. The location is perfect, the view is stunning, and the service was top-notch. Everyone was incredibly friendly and professional, and we truly felt at home. Special thanks to Aleksandar and the whole team. We can't wait to come back.

The way the hotel handled my booking left me disappointed enough that I chose not to stay there. I could have cancelled my other hotel and stayed at The Embassy Valletta Hotel, but the experience was already ruined before it began. I entered the wrong email address when I reserved through the hotel's website, so I never received the confirmation or booking details and didn't know a reservation existed. The hotel contacted me first, which is how I found out. I explained my mistake and asked whether they could help by not charging the whole booking. I know the incorrect email was my fault, but I was disappointed by how little flexibility or empathy they showed. Instead of looking for a reasonable option, such as charging one night or showing some goodwill over an honest mistake, they insisted on the strict cancellation fee. The communication felt rigid and transactional, which was disappointing from a hotel where the customer experience should matter. Mistakes happen, and how a hotel responds says a lot about its service culture. In my case, there was very little understanding or willingness to help.

The hotel's restaurant deserves a special mention. The food was great in both taste and presentation, the drinks were amazing, and the service was impeccable. The dining room staff were elegant, polite, and professional while still feeling warm and human, which made a real difference with kids. We also really appreciated the upgrade during our week-long stay. The facilities are great, the bedroom was spacious with nice amenities, and the location is unbeatable. But the staff are what make the experience worth it. Aleksander, the Guest Experience Manager, was so nice and proactive, checking that we were enjoying the stay and giving us his direct contact in case we needed anything. There is some nighttime noise in the area, which is to be expected, and the rooms could use better sound insulation. That seems like a manageable improvement over the medium term. It was a small thing compared with the rest of a very positive stay. Thanks for making our first time in Malta unforgettable! ❤️🙏
