The rooms were comfortable, clean, and well maintained, and it’s a convenient base for nearby areas. Front Office staff Ramesh and the Duty Housekeeping staff were kind, attentive, and helpful throughout. I had a very enjoyable stay and would recommend UI Hotel Maldives. One thing bothered me a little: local people often smoke just outside the hotel’s coffee shop. If that could be managed, the guest experience would be even better.

We booked dinner and breakfast, but staff first said dinner wasn’t included. After I showed our payment details, they agreed to provide it, though we got a choice of two dishes instead of a buffet. Breakfast was sliced bread, jam, butter, some fruit, and deep-fried potato spice-filled chops. The coffee was so-so, and the meals weren’t anything special. I chose this place because it was about a ten-minute drive from the airport, but with so many other options, I wouldn’t recommend it. Pay a little more and avoid this nightmare. The whole room ordeal took three hours. Our room on the top floor was tiny, some lights didn’t work, and we asked to move to the first floor. They agreed, but that room was infested with bed bugs coming out of the pillows, sheets, mattress, and elsewhere. We tried to put up with it, then had to change rooms a third time just to get a night’s sleep. There’s no elevator, the staircase is narrow, and getting a third-floor room would be tough. The bell boy was very nice and carried our bags up all three floors.

I stayed nearly two weeks and enjoyed it. The staff were friendly throughout and accommodated my several extensions. The rooms are on the small side but not cramped, and felt worth the money. The washroom was clean and had hot water. There’s also a less crowded private section of beach nearby, which was a nice bonus for enjoying some privacy.

The rooms are spacious, the beach is close, and the location is good. Service was good too, and it’s a decent place for a short stay. There’s no lift, which makes the third floor difficult to reach. Twice in one day, our key card failed and we had to go down to reception. Breakfast was okay but below expectations: bread, coffee, bean rice, dal, and pudding. I didn’t expect rice to be served for breakfast.
