Kue Hotel

We had a great time at Kue Maafushi with our friends. The excursions arranged through the hotel were fun and well organized, and its location made it easy to get to the beach and things to do around Maafushi. The rooms were clean, comfortable, and had what we needed. Staff made us feel welcome from arrival, and the food had a nice range of tasty choices. It was easy to relax there or head out to explore, and the warm hospitality made the stay special. I’d happily recommend it to visitors to the Maldives and would come back.

We lost $500 from our room on the last day of a two-night holiday, and the hotel’s response was a mess. At first the manager said he wasn’t responsible because we hadn’t locked the door. A receptionist had noticed it open when she came to the room and told us after we went out. We were sure we had locked it, so we tested it and found it could still be opened easily while locked. We filmed this and showed the manager, who then admitted it was the hotel’s fault. We asked to speak with staff because we hoped not to involve police. More than two hours passed without anything being done, so we called them. They checked CCTV and our room, and found an unsealed access door from the adjoining room. We were on the third floor, which had no CCTV. Police also told us a similar incident had happened three months earlier and that management had changed all the staff afterward. After the police got involved, the manager said he would sort it out in ten minutes, but nearly three more hours passed with no result. He later promised to transfer the money and asked for a few days. We agreed to wait, then he changed his story and said management had refused. After repeated follow-ups and pressure from us, he agreed to return just $300 of the $500, in two payments. Poor security, no accountability, and badly handled management. I can’t recommend it. There was no third-floor CCTV, multiple ways into rooms, and the door locks weren’t secure. Stay at your own risk.

The room was spacious and comfortable, and the price was affordable. The staff were really helpful and nice. Thank you!

For the price, this felt expensive. The rooms and bath towels weren’t very clean, and the locks didn’t feel safe. Food was average, while the snorkeling and other sea activities were below average. The hotel gave us no proper communication from the airport. Its location beside the jail was bad, and the way locals stared made us feel unsafe.
