Daphne, the owner, really made me feel at home, and the staff were all friendly and helpful. I slept as well as I do at home, which says a lot. The hotel feels very secure, and I never worried about theft. Our room was spacious and spotless, with a shower that got nice and hot. There’s a good kitchen with shelves for guests to store food, and breakfast is offered in the mornings. It’s centrally located, an easy walk from restaurants and coffee shops. I highly recommend it! 🤗

For budget travel, this is a convenient, safe choice, with a good location and really nice people. I stayed in a private room for almost a month, and it was very clean. The only real downside was the mosquitoes, though it was rainy season, and noise from other guests passing through the courtyard. I still managed to sleep through it. I’d definitely recommend the place.

To English-speaking tourists, do not book Vilasanta Hotel. I had the worst service and felt ripped off. The staff made fun of customers and talked badly about them. The rooms weren’t ready to use: there was no AC, towels, or toilet paper, and there was humidity on the ceilings and walls. Water leaked onto the beds and floors. My family and I couldn’t stay another second. When I asked for a refund, the owner refused until I said I would sue them for fraud.

The hotel’s front door is always locked, which is its biggest plus. I didn’t choose this place myself, it came through a tour agency, and I wouldn’t book it on my own or recommend it. There isn’t much for tourists nearby in the way of restaurants, bars, or shops. It’s a small, very old hotel, and the breakfast they provide is nothing special. The doors and locks are quirky, and the bathroom door wouldn’t latch or lock. Its ceiling was open to the bathroom next door, so we could hear everything when our neighbors used it. Staff made the bed, but didn’t clean the bathroom or leave fresh towels. There was no seating or hand towels in the room, though there was plenty of closet and dresser space.

The location was perfect, and I’d stay here again. Great Mexican decor, friendly staff, and a really nice vibe.
