The hotel is very quiet, though it's in the north part of the city, so getting to a better swimming beach or finding more food options means taking a bus, taxi, or Uber. There's a small convenience store two blocks away. The property is older but very clean and well maintained, and the restaurant food is good. Lounges are easy to find, and the views from upper-floor rooms are lovely, especially from an odd-numbered room. Staff service is outstanding. A hot tub or jacuzzi would be a welcome addition.

We were staying in Cerritos in an apartment and decided to try the day pass. It made for a great day. We went early to check things out, but there was no need to do that. Just show up, pay, and the cost goes toward food. They hand you towels and a wristband, then you're set for music, activities, and sun. It was a hot day, so the pool felt refreshing. Everything was clean and the atmosphere was welcoming and upbeat. We had lunch by the pool, played volleyball and ping pong, went swimming, and joined BINGO. Happy hour was nice too, and we spent some time by the ocean with drinks from that bar.

The food was consistently outstanding, and the service was impeccable. The doorman in the main lobby, who also worked as concierge, was especially helpful, polite, and pleasant. I can't remember his name, but he was there most days during our two-week stay, always smiling and attentive.

We had the pool day pass and it was amazing. We were the only ones there.

The day pass made for a fabulous day by the pool, and all the staff were really friendly.
