Beds felt a little hard, so I stacked two mattresses. Still, it’s a wonderful place, with super friendly staff and a beautiful terrace right on the beach. Some rooms have a great view.

The room had hot water, air conditioning, a lovely view, and a firm mattress with good support. The receptionist was helpful too. There were some big carpenter ants in the room, though, and we were given spray to kill them. The rates we were offered were also higher than the prices listed on the website.

The room itself was fine, but we got no sleep. Music from the beach bar went on until 2 a.m. and started up again at 6 a.m. We had to leave, even though they offered us a different room, since the music carried throughout the hotel. There was no warning about the noise, no parking provided, and no refund. Mazunte was described to us as laid back, but it felt like a party destination.

We wouldn’t stay here again, even though the location and views were amazing and the price was pretty good. The staff were very nice, and the air conditioning worked great. We stayed in Casa Perla, where construction behind the building looked straight into the bedroom, which had no shades or blinds. The plumbing made extremely loud noises about every 20 minutes, enough to scare you and keep you awake. My partner also badly twisted her ankle on the steep, uneven walk up to the room.
