Casona Origen

The gardens and pool give the place a boutique luxury feel, though it never comes across as pretentious. Our rooms were elegant, with comfortable beds and excellent air conditioning, and the design blends traditional architecture with modern comfort. Breakfast each morning was fresh, simple, and delicious, with good coffee and quality ingredients in a relaxed setting. Hotel Casona Origen Mérida was one of the highlights of our time in Mérida. It feels like a peaceful oasis in the city, with a location that makes it easy to explore while still offering calm and privacy. In Mérida Centro, it's near La Mejorada Park, and within walking distance of Mérida Cathedral, Paseo de Montejo, the historic center, and plenty of good restaurants. The staff were warm and attentive throughout, ready to help with recommendations, transport, or little requests. Their hospitality made the stay feel personal. Parking was convenient and stress-free, which made it much easier to explore the city and surrounding areas. Casa Origen feels like a destination in its own right. Highly recommended for a Mérida visit.

Birds chirped in the garden behind the property, and the pool was a welcome treat after a hot day. The traffic hum outside was softened by the room fans. From Casa Origen, it was about a 10-15 minute walk to major sites, pretty streets, and restaurants. There are cute restaurants and cafés nearby, though the street the hotel sits on is a little worn. I suspect its mid-gentrification location is the only reason it gets three stars instead of four on Google. We stayed four nights, and our group used four of the hotel's six rooms. Each was spacious, meticulously clean, and beautifully decorated in its own way, with great AC and fans and excellent showers. Everyone at this lovely little hotel was kind, courteous, and accommodating, including Maria Jose and Alejandro at the front desk and the women making breakfast each morning.

The front desk helped us with recommendations and whatever we needed, at any time of day or night, and we really appreciated that. Room service was consistent, and the staff were very accommodating. Breakfast is free and always worth grabbing if the timing works. From the hotel, nearby destinations seemed like an easy walk or a quick Uber ride. I'd recommend this boutique stay to couples looking for a getaway in Mérida.

Alejandro gave us such a warm welcome. He was responsive and very pleasant, and the staff were wonderful. The rooms are magnificent and full of charm, and the pool is superbly placed.
