The staff made us feel welcome, and Toh restaurant was delicious and exquisite. This gorgeous 300 year old hacienda has a newer hotel, with swim-out access from all the first-floor rooms. There’s also a swim-up bar serving snacks and both soft and alcoholic drinks. I’d definitely stay again.!!

The food was remarkably good once it finally reached the table, and the location is close to the city and easy to get to. But I waited an hour and a half for my tagliatelle with pulpo. My pregnant friend waited nearly as long for her burger. I was there for a birthday gathering, or I would have left. Some dishes arrived sooner, but bring a bottle of water and order a few drinks at once. They also didn’t have 00% beer, which is popular here with pregnant people and designated drivers. The kind, understanding gentleman looking after us knew his stuff, but he was left with too little support and a kitchen that kept taking ages and forgetting things. Hard to say whose fault that was. It’s a fairly new place, only five months old, and hopefully they’ll work out that having four restaurant staff with no clients while one person handles the whole pool area full of people doesn’t work. They took my ID and forgot to return it even though the bill was paid, which turned into another headache. I should have remembered to ask, but in my seven years here I’ve never been asked to leave ID before. Since requesting it is their policy, I think it was on them to return it. The rooms looked nice from outside, but if the quoted price was right, over 5000 pesos a night, it’s definitely not worth it.

Dinner was a feast, and the pool was out of this world. Staying overnight in such a historic hacienda made it feel extra special. We had a wonderful time and can’t wait to come back. Thanks, team Hacienda Susula!

Marco, Gil, and Eduardo were fantastic. Everyone was friendly and welcoming, and the service was great from beginning to end. The place was clean and had a really positive vibe. Highly recommend it.

Hacienda Susulá in Mérida has a lovely, distinctive atmosphere, with historic elegance and a beautiful property full of potential. Charlie deserves a special mention for doing his best. The service was still affected by staff being stretched thin. There were delays and miscommunications, and the team could use more training to make things run more smoothly. The kitchen also ran out of some items, which was frustrating and seems like something better planning could prevent. With better staffing, training, and organization, this place could become a standout destination in Mérida.
