The staff were incredible, and everything was kept very clean. Casa Pancha itself is a beautiful building in a wonderful spot, and most of the people staying there were great. I had a fabulous time for the most part. My one reason for giving four stars is the breakfast change during my stay. It went from a lovely spread of yogurt, fruit, bread, and jam to yogurt, fruit, and just one boiled egg. For what I paid each night at this hostel, being rationed a single egg didn’t look good. Aside from that, I’d recommend it to anyone wanting a relaxed hostel in a well-positioned part of the city.

Condesa was as calm and walkable as people say, with more restaurants and cafes than I could ever get through. The location was good, and I loved staying at Casa Pancha. It’s quiet, clean, and orderly, and the nicest hostel I’ve come across in Latin America after staying at many. The blackout curtain gave my pod a cozy, private feel, and the bed was very comfortable. The pillows were quite flat and bothered my neck for the first few nights, though. The staff were so welcoming, helpful, and polite. I had a really nice stay, would recommend it, and would come back.

The shared spaces at La Casa Pancha were attractive and clean, and I could easily work there. The pods also gave a surprisingly good sense of privacy for a hostel. Everything was incredibly clean, and the staff treated all the travellers so kindly. I spent 4 days there, right in the middle of La Condessa, one of Mexico’s most beautiful areas. Thanks so much to Lynn for being kind and sharing recommendations. I’d happily stay here again.

I really liked the location and the staff, and the common areas were kept clean all the time. Breakfast was pretty good too, as long as you got there early. I’d recommend Casa Pancha and would visit again. A few things could be improved, though. The bathroom doors around the toilets could use more privacy. In Room Rufino, a six-capsule room with two showers and one WC, the WC door is a thin glass panel with aluminum hinges and a latch. With the room full of people you’ve just met, that didn’t feel right. Most bathrooms also seemed to have little or no ventilation. There was a small extractor in one shower, but none in the WC, where bad smells are to be expected. I’d suggest adding extractors and replacing those toilet doors with wooden ones. The body gel and shampoo also seemed to be the same product as the hand soap, which was a bit odd. It was like that throughout my stay. Even with those issues, it’s a great option when you consider everything else.

I felt safe and the place was clean, and the owner was super lovely when they came over for a chat. The common areas are really pretty, and I loved being able to close off my bed completely. There wasn’t much room for luggage, though. The staff weren’t very helpful when I asked about booking a tour, and I expected breakfast to have more of a social feel. Nobody really said good morning or made me feel welcome, including the staff. There were some nice efforts in the WhatsApp group, though. A group dinner people could sign up for would be lovely. Still, it’s a good place to stay in CDMX.
