The suite was spacious and very clean, with a full kitchen, and the bed and butter-soft sheets made for great sleep. The hotel is centrally placed on a quiet street, which mattered a lot to me after noisy nights at an Airbnb on an earlier CDMX trip. The staff were helpful and nice, and I have nothing negative to say. There’s a gym, plus a free washer and dryer on site, which came in handy. Restaurants, cafes, wine bars, shops, and neighborhood bars are all within walking distance. Parque Mexico and Parque España are gorgeous and just a block away. The cafe next door sells good coconut water if you need to rehydrate. Its breakfast menu looked good, though I didn’t try it. A few blocks away, Tibur, Vera Pizza, Mendl, Odette bakery, and Lardo are insanely good food spots.

The rooftop was a real treat, peaceful and lovely for unwinding after a day out. The Amsterdam is also well placed for exploring the city, while staying quiet and relaxing. Thanks especially to Eric and George?, who was incredibly helpful and kept things running smoothly during my stay. Friendly staff, a calm and comfortable atmosphere, and a wonderful visit. Highly recommended!

We spent a week at The Amsterdam and really enjoyed it. The suite was comfortable and felt luxe, the staff were friendly, and breakfast on the rooftop was light. The location was great too. We’ve stayed at another Viadora property and really like their approach to hospitality.

The staff were very nice and helpful, though several didn’t speak much English, which surprised me since every guest I met spoke English. The lobby looks pretty but feels lifeless, perhaps because they need to keep noise down for the rooms upstairs. The roof deck is very nice, but the food there is limited to small snacks. Our balcony was so tiny you could barely stand on it, which felt like another way to market the place and extract a fee. The rooms look luxurious in photos, but the finish and service don’t meet the luxury prices. Viadora seems more focused on marketing than customer satisfaction. If it cost less, I’d expect less, but at these rates I expected more. The doors slam, with bare wood hitting wood and no felt, bumpers, or soft-close mechanisms. Sound insulation is terrible, too. Noise carries through the stairwell, and we could hear everything from every floor. Voices and slamming kept interrupting our sleep. The bathroom had only soap and towels, with no Q-tips or other amenities. We appreciated the daily water in the room, but there was no espresso or tea maker. There was no turn-down service or evening treat from one of the many excellent local shops. At this price, more amenities are to be expected. Unless they lower the prices and fix the slamming and sound problems, I wouldn’t stay here again.

The only drawback was that the water didn’t get quite as hot as I usually like, though it was okay and the stay was worth it. The Amsterdam has fantastic rooms and a comfortable bed, and it’s within walking distance of great restaurants and bars. Five stars for sure. I’ll stay here again next time I’m in CDMX.
