We were there as a family with our seven-year-old son, and the staff made the stay especially good. Mari, Emmanuel, Daisy, Diego, and Gabriel helped with every detail. They went out of their way to find restaurant reservations and share honest recommendations and tips for exploring downtown. When we needed a cab, they kindly arranged one for us; other times we walked. The cathedral, markets, and plaza are all a short, easy walk away, and we felt safe at any hour. The hotel is clean and safe, and breakfast has plenty of options. They made hotcakes for our son, which we really appreciated, and the coffee was great. They’ll make what you ask for, and even prepared a cup for us before our 6am flight home. The central location is great, but the people are what made this place exceptional. We couldn’t have picked a better place and it’s one of the best stays we’ve had.

Mari and Gabriel made our one-night stay feel special. Mari was warm and gracious, with plenty of good suggestions for things to do. Gabriel was kind and attentive too, and breakfast was amazing. Days after we checked out, we walked past the hotel and Mari spotted us in the crowd over all the noise at a busy intersection. She still remembered our names and gave us a huge smile. We’d expected to stay in centro later in the week, but flight availability over the New Year’s holiday meant we needed somewhere for our first night. Taking a chance on this place turned out so well that we wished we could have stayed longer. I felt completely safe, and at least on the night we were there, it was quiet. The value was perfect, especially with breakfast. I’d recommend it and would go back myself.

The rooms are huge, with very high ceilings and great furniture, and breakfast was delicious. The staff may have been my favorite of any hotel in Mexico I’ve stayed at. They let me practice my Spanish and later helped me track down something I’d lost. I’ll definitely stay again when I return.

La Casona De Tita was one of the best parts of our Oaxaca trip. Though it’s close to downtown, the hotel sits on a quiet street, and it’s clean and safe. The staff were outstanding. Mari was so kind and helpful, making our time in Oaxaca much easier, and Gabrielle made every breakfast morning enjoyable and special. I’d recommend it to anyone looking for a special stay in Oaxaca.

This was my second stay at La Casona de Tita in two years, and it was just as good as the first. The breakfasts were delicious, and the place was cozy and spotless. What stands out most is the staff: friendly, responsive, hardworking, and so helpful. They go to great lengths to make your stay as good as possible. Some of the best hotel service I’ve had. I’ll be back.
