The bed in the room was fine, and parking was okay, but the rest made the stay frustrating. The air conditioning didn’t work, the fridge barely worked, and there was no microwave. The internet was slow for a hotel in this class, and both the room and restaurant rates felt expensive. I also didn’t like staying in a building nearby, since I had to leave it each morning to get breakfast. Tips at breakfast couldn’t go on a credit card, so I had to carry cash, which is especially inconvenient on a business trip. I had a credit card issue and the office sent me a digital card, but the desk clerk wouldn’t accept it, and I don’t understand why. The hotel felt cheaply built in an American style, without much care or character. Next time I’ll try the Intercontinental and see how that goes.

The service dragged on all night. We waited 30 minutes for appetizers, another half hour for the meal, and then 45 more minutes just to pay and get a receipt. The waiter or bartender had to go to the front desk and wait over 15 minutes each time a receipt was needed. My drink order came out completely different from what I asked for, and the food was undercooked. None of it tasted good, even though I tried to keep an open mind. This wasn’t my first visit to Mexico, and there are plenty of reasons I wouldn’t stay here again.

Andrea at the front desk is the reason I’ll keep choosing this hotel for business trips. She goes well beyond what’s expected and always remembers me. The lounge host was friendly too, and breakfast came out quickly. It’s a dependable hotel, priced well for the area, and I’d recommend staying here.

I felt safe inside the hotel, and the grounds are lovely. There’s a nice pool, two restaurants, and a great breakfast where you can get omelettes. The rooms are pleasant and the beds comfortable. Still, I wasn’t confident about going outside the property in this area.

The staff here take real pride in their work, and the personal touches made this the best service I’ve had across many Marriott stays, including the Ritz. I’m an ambassador status customer and have had plenty to compare it with. The team was lovely, accommodating, and repeatedly went out of their way to make things feel personal. For example, the bartender didn’t have the liquors for a cocktail I asked for on my first day. I didn’t make a fuss, since it’s not a common drink, and ordered mezcal instead, which I probably should have chosen in Mexico from the start. The next day, he spotted me around the property and told me he’d found what he needed to make my cocktail. My family joined me on day two, late in the evening. My two year old daughter was tired while we sat in the restaurant, and the staff noticed and set up a makeshift bed next to our table. We were the only diners there at that hour. Puebla is fantastic, and the people at this hotel and throughout the city are special. I highly recommend staying here. Viva Mexico! 🇲🇽
