Suites at Sapphire Ocean Club

I’m only reviewing the beach club, not the accommodation. The facilities are great, with clean toilets, a shower, and a pool for anyone who doesn’t want salt water. Wi-Fi was fast and stable, the drinks were okay but nothing special, and the staff were friendly, quick, and helpful. There were also a disproportionate number of souvenir sellers and people offering massages, which got annoying. A sunbed and umbrella cost 300 MXN a day. I always showed up without a reservation and ended up in the third row or farther from the water. I tried to book through the website but never managed to complete a reservation. The bills were wrong every single day. On the first day they had to redo mine three times: first some items were missing, then extra ones were added, and then the sunbed was left off. Eventually I stopped pointing things out because they were shortchanging themselves, and I ended up getting something for free each day. I’ll definitely come back, and hopefully they’ll be more careful with the bills next time.

The staff were great and helpful, and the beach club served very good food and drinks at fair prices. There’s a shower in the club bathroom too. For a future visit, I’d rather pay 300 pesos for a beach club day pass and reserve a lounger than spend the money on a room. Staying in a room right on the beach was nice, but there were several hassles. The pool is just outside, and staff start setting up at 8 am, so sleeping in after a late night is hard. Club music usually begins around 9:45 am. You also have to put out a sign every day to get housekeeping and fresh towels. Once the beach club closes, nobody is at the desk, and there are no instructions for reaching anyone at night if something goes wrong. The room had a microwave and a two-burner cooktop, but not enough dishes, silverware, glasses, pans, or even a cutting knife.

We’ve been coming here for years, and after trying other places now and then, this is still our home base. Sergio and the whole team take such good care of us, and Luis always sorts out our special drink requests. They’re attentive, friendly, and make it feel like you have your own staff. Ask for what you need, and they’ll make it happen. It’s always a relaxing beach day with good food and drinks.

We spent two days at Sapphire while staying in an Airbnb and had a great time. The service was excellent, the chairs were comfortable, and the food and drinks were good. The day pass is reasonably priced, though food and drinks cost a bit more. You are right on the beach, so I’d recommend it for a beach day if you’re not staying at a resort.
