They were able to fit us in a night early, when the weather was still great, after our original plans for the night Hurricane Beryl was supposed to hit changed at the last minute. We had a third-floor room facing the water, and the ocean smell drifted in whenever the breeze came through the open windows. It was rustic, with a straw roof, but nice overall and had a king-sized bed. The sunrise was lovely, the service was nice, and we appreciated the restaurant suggestions.

I stayed in the "frida Room". It was very comfortable and right across from the sea, with an excellent balcony view. The staff were polite and attentive to every need. It’s a normal two-star hotel, though I wouldn’t suggest it to anyone hoping to sleep late because there’s a very loud bar nearby.

The bathroom smelled so awful after the first shower that it was hard to breathe. Wi-Fi didn’t work in our room and had connection problems generally. We asked the staff, or owner, how to get to las coloradas and whether public buses ran, since we’d read that they did. He said there was no public transport and not even taxis, then arranged a private ride for 400(!) pesos. Later that day we found public buses to las coloradas in the City Center for 20 pesos. It felt like it was all about making money.
