The bed and pillows were comfortable, and the place was clean and kept up, but I left feeling the price and listing didn’t match what was there. I paid $170-180 a night, which felt unjustified for a room I think is worth $70–$80 at most. Calling it a 4-star hotel seems like a stretch. To me, it’s a well-maintained 2-star motel. The rooms are tiny, around 11 m² by my estimate, rather than the 35 m² stated in the listing. There’s barely room to open a suitcase. The doors open straight onto the street, and the corridors have the look of a roadside motel. The website photos make the place look very different from reality, credit to whoever took them. The fixed overhead rain-style shower has no handheld option. Water splashes around, and it’s awkward to use. I asked for a refund or even a discount because of the misleading presentation, but that was refused. If it had been advertised plainly as a motel or lodge, expectations would have been clearer.

There’s a small pool for cooling off and a seating spot where you can relax overlooking the golf course. The rooms are European-sized and thoughtfully designed, with comfortable beds, cold A/C, and a clean, modern feel. The hotel is tucked into a quiet residential and hotel area in San José del Cabo, but it’s still close to downtown. Cafés and restaurants are within walking distance, with the main shopping mall just a couple of blocks away. There’s also a casual restaurant right outside that serves all day. A great little find if you’re on a business trip or want to get around and explore instead of staying inside an all-inclusive resort. Cool vibe and convenient location.

The rooms were the best part of our two-night stay: modern, comfortable, and with fantastic A/C. That showerhead was so good I want one at home. The little pool is lovely too, just right for a quick dip in the morning or evening. There’s a stocked minibar and a couple of snacks in the room, but they aren’t free, so I left them alone. I’d happily come back. Check-in was a slightly awkward start. One receptionist, the one without glasses, whose name I didn’t get, wasn’t particularly welcoming. She wasn’t rude, just didn’t make us feel welcome.

Lalo welcomed us when we arrived and was really helpful with recommendations. The place was quiet, our room was comfortable, and getting to the city center was a quick drive. I stayed four nights with my partner. I didn’t ask for room service because I prefer to reuse towels. I left the maid a tip, and gave her another when she lent us a broom to sweep up beach sand. Checkout changed how we felt about the stay. We were told the room looked good, but then charged 400 pesos for a towel we’d used on the floor that had some dirt on it. My partner offered to clean it, saying dirt comes out. The front desk clerk with glasses quickly told us we didn’t have to pay and was only passing along the message. I’ve seen other reviews describe similar situations, which is disheartening. We treated everyone respectfully and appreciate the work they do, but this didn’t feel right and we’ve decided not to return.

Good for a solo traveler who wants to eat out or order delivery. It’s super clean and quiet, and the location is good, though still in the resort area. The pool isn’t heated and runs cold, but that was fine by me. The room is minimalist, with no drawers and low lighting. I wouldn’t want to share it for a week with another diver or with kids, but for one person looking to relax for a day or two, it works great. Not for kids!
