Leo was a great host, very friendly and easy to communicate with. The apartment has everything you need, including a big comfortable bed and a well-equipped kitchen for making meals at home. Its location is great, with everything in the centro histórico within walking distance and lots of nice restaurants nearby. We loved reading in the sun on the rooftop terrace or in the plaza downstairs. We loved our stay!
I spent about a month at Antigua Altamira and it was just right for me. The apartments have everything you need, including handy extras like a blender. The location is very central, close to the market and restaurants, but still quiet. WiFi was fast with a strong signal, so I could even work from the amazing rooftop deck. Leo was a great host, a really nice guy, and the other guests were interesting and friendly. There was a lovely sense of community. It’s hard to imagine a better place to stay in Querétaro.
I spent my first stretch in Querétaro at Leo’s place, then moved between three other spots over seven weeks because I wanted to explore different parts of the historic district. They were all fine, some better than others, but none felt as welcoming, well located, or accommodating as Leo’s. So I came back to Antigua Altamira for my last several weeks. My favorites were the inner terrace, the lovely spacious apartment, and especially the roof deck, where I’d spend hours reading each afternoon. If you get the chance to book a room here, don’t delay. I’ll absolutely be back!
We slept perfectly here, even though at first we worried the popular street outside might make it noisy. Nights turned out to be some of the quietest and most peaceful of our stay, and we were grateful for the chance to be here. The owner was easily one of the most accommodating people you could meet, and the building was lovely and very well maintained. The rooftop patio was fantastic: we spent peaceful early mornings there, ate outside, met other guests, and enjoyed sunsets and drinks with a view. The historic center is all within easy walking distance.
We stayed in an apartment-style room with a kitchenette and en suite bathroom, in a Colonial house right in the middle of Queretaro's lovely center. La Cruz church and market are very close, and the upstairs terrace is a great spot to relax and enjoy the view. The people running the place were very nice and helpful. A great place to stay, and we’d happily recommend it and come back.
