Nueve Agaves Hotel

After reading the reviews and looking at photos on several sites, including the hotel's own, I hoped this would be a good place for my family to stay for a few days while we traveled through Los Altos. I contacted them on WhatsApp to ask about booking directly and maybe getting a better rate. To my surprise, their direct price was much higher than the offers on Expedia and Hotels.com. I don't want to assume it was because I had a U.S phone number, but I can't figure out how they could charge more than those sites. I guess I'll never know.

The room was decent, with a comfortable bed and working AC. The bathroom was a little small, but fine. Check-in went smoothly, and the women at the front desk were helpful and friendly. You're right in the heart of Tequila, with restaurants, shops, bars, street food and attractions all around, and everything is walkable in a very safe area. It took us about 20 minutes to walk from the bus stop. I'd recommend staying here if you're in the area.

The noise carries through the paper-thin walls and doors, and somehow seems amplified in the room. The mattresses feel like they're carved from stone, and the awful pillows are anyone's guess. The WiFi is terrible too. Even sitting on the toilet is uncomfortable, with your knees against the wall. I don't recommend it.

We couldn't sleep properly because of the awful acoustics. Noise seemed to get amplified in the room, so this place didn't do its main job of letting us rest. The beds were really hard, and the pillows were both rock-hard and much too high. There were a couple of good things: the room was a decent size, the bathroom was nice and got hot water quickly, and the location was great. We stayed two nights.
