Getting to the city center on foot takes about 10-15 minutes, which is a plus. I had average comfort overall, with a comfortable bed and air conditioning that worked well. But the private room was run-down, with old furniture, and didn't look like the photos. The internet was slow enough that I usually used my own connection, and the shower took ages to heat up. I arrived at 7 p.m. for check-in and was asked to wait around 7-8 minutes while the receptionist presumably went to tidy the room. They'd forgotten to put a sheet over the comforter, and the bathroom was still wet at that hour. Guests have to leave shoes or slippers at the entrance, but the floors didn't seem clean enough for walking around in socks.

There's plenty within walking distance, including famous eateries and Asian and Western restaurants in pleasant surroundings. Shopping malls are about a five-minute walk away, and monorail and MRT services are nearby. There are hotels around the area too. Be adventurous and you can make your stay enjoyable.

The staff were nice and helpful when I needed them, and the city-center location has lots of facilities nearby. But I won't book here again. After checking out, my doctor diagnosed me with scabies. There were bugs in my room, and the bedding seemed infested with scabies mites, the tiny mites you can't see with the naked eye. From what I heard, they're the worst kind of bed bug. This caused a terrible amount of stress and extra spending on laundry, sanitation, and medication. I wouldn't book here again, and I don't think you should either.

I arrived early, and the owner let me wait in his room while mine was being prepared. At first it seemed kind, but then he offered me a massage, which felt inappropriate and made me uncomfortable. I packed up and left straight away. Ladies, trust your instincts and be careful. I wouldn't recommend staying here alone.
