1825 Gallery Hotel

The one drawback was the missing minibar and the lack of a bedroom mirror, since the only mirror was in the bathroom. It's an old building, and I understand extra electrical sockets in the room could be a high risk. I still wish we could've stayed longer. The staff were efficient when we arrived early and stored our luggage while we went to explore Melaka Jonker Walk, an easy walk along the river. When we returned, they had brought our bags to the room and personally showed us up. The room was huge, with a smart TV and an equally large bathroom that had a shower, double sink and bathtub. Later, as we waited for Grab before dinner, Anna at reception helped us take photos around the hotel lobby. Look for her, she's really good at it.

Parking is pretty poor, and the rickshaws playing music loudly are jarring in a Unesco World Heritage site. Still, this was a great hotel in a Malaysian town well worth visiting. The location was fantastic, walkable to pretty much anywhere you'd want to go, with the river, great cafes and places to eat close by. Melaka has so much to see and do, and such an interesting, varied history. Loved it to bits. The lobby is very IG tastic if ugas, and our room was spacious and clean with an outstanding bathroom.

The river views from the room were stunning, and the huge balcony was a lovely place to sit and relax. We chose a river-view room at the higher price and were glad we did. The room was spacious, the bathroom even bigger, and fresh fruit was served too. We'd planned on two nights at 1825 Gallery Hotel, but it was fully booked, so we got one night. The property is in a prime area, with modern rooms and an aesthetic feel that seemed more like a four-star hotel. We'll choose it again on our next visit.

Our executive suite had loads of space, and the bathroom was the highlight: huge, with a double sink and giant bathtub. They even left bath bombs, a nice finishing touch. Everyone was professional and friendly, and the service was amazing. The hotel sits right beside the river, just outside the center, so it was quiet enough while still easy to reach the center on foot. It was the best hotel I had in Malacca. Also, try the restaurant behind called ATAS, where you can enjoy amazing food with a river view. 100% recommend.
