Tyng Garden Hotel Sandakan

We were too tired after arriving late and had an early checkout to see Orang utan, so we stayed in the room instead of asking to change it. The room was in poor shape: the wall had mould, the shower knob was damaged, there was no hot water, and the old towels were stained. The bidet was left on the floor with no hook. They asked for an RM100 deposit in case guests caused damage, but the facilities need attention too. I hope the owner takes this feedback positively and improves the service.

In Room 213, the toilet tank wouldn't refill automatically, which was the worst part. The floor felt sticky and sandy, and the bidet had no holder and was left on the floor. The air conditioner didn't seem cool. Payment at the counter wasn't cashless, so I'd suggest adding cashless options for both the deposit and room payment.

The toilet flush was painfully slow, and the cleanliness was the worst I've come across in a hotel. The bedsheets and pillowcases were yellowish and had stains. Afterward, I got bad eczema on my skin. I really wouldn't recommend staying here if you're visiting Sandakan. A big no-no.

The room was spacious and the price was low, with easy parking right in front. There's a lift too, so luggage wasn't a problem. The air conditioner worked well, and the toilet was acceptably clean, though not spotless. I only found out in the morning that the hot shower in my room wasn't working. Just a basic budget hotel for a one-night stay.
